Oh my God, I'm actually such a bad boyfriend (or girlfriend? I'd like to be considered a girlfriend, but I know that's not what he thinks of me as.) My boyfriend and I have been dating for 9 months, and it's about to be 10. I know that's barely anything, but we started freshman year, so we are statistically unlikely. Over time, I have come to genuinely love him and dread the idea of losing him. Now imagine how I feel when I realize that I might no longer be the boy he fell in love with. In fact, I might not even be a boy. You see, I have recently begun to feel a bit of gender dysphoria. Actually, it might be a little more than "a bit". I haven't told him anything about this. I have tried dropping a few hints here and there, but he isn't picking them up. Eventually, I'll have to tell him, or risk hating myself for the rest of my life. Time is running out. If he finds out through sources like this Neocities site without me directly telling him, I risk losing any possibility of a friendship after the inevitable breakup. He's a really nice guy. I like what we have. But I'm afraid that I might be taking the love that he could otherwise be giving to someone who is more deserving of it.
